Yocha's founder - Amanda Tan - has suffered from chronic eczema and sinisitus since her teens. She chanced upon an article on the benefits of fermentation for allergies sufferer. This led her to discover a whole new world about probiotics and gut health. Realising that probiotics could help improve gut health, she started brewing her own fermented drink - kombucha.

Fast forward to today, Amanda's sinusitis has completely cleared, and has had no eczema flare-ups since 2016. Inspired by how much kombucha has benefited her overall health, Yocha was launched and quickly became and instant hit!

My name is Amanda Tan and I am the founder of Singapore's first award winning kombucha brand - Yocha.

-- What inspired the business idea?

My personal health has improved tremendously and my allergies are gone after I took on the habit of drinking kombucha daily. I wanted to share the goodness of kombucha with everyone.

-- What makes this business unique?

I have personally benefited from consuming this elixir, and I know it is a better alternative to many other drinks that are currently sold on the shelf. It is a whole new category of healthy beverage and I wanted see it grow. It is a very popular drink in other countries such as United States and Australia.
