YEWN Contemporary Chinese Fine Jewelry
YEWN is a seed that was sown five thousand years ago in China – it germinates when Dickson Yewn, YEWN’s creative director, creates wearable works of art with sophisticated craftsmanship in the twenty-first century, that reminds people of national treasures made by imperial artisans. Since the end of Chinese monarchy, fine jewelry inheriting the essence of traditional Chinese arts and culture are rarely made. YEWN has the vision to revive the fineness and sophistication of Chinese arts and culture, and to nurture itself to become “ The Contemporary Chinese Luxury Jeweller”, a distinctive jewellery brand that truly represents the only remaining civilisation state of the world, China.
Dickson Yewn is the founder of YEWN, one of the very few contemporary Chinese Jewelry brands in the world. After almost 20 years in the business with prestigious sales channels worldwide such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Christie’s auction, Landmark Hong Kong and Peninsula Hotel, etc, YEWN is ready to embark on a journey to develop a genuine and well thought-out art and design brand that adopts social responsibility as its core identity and practice.
January 25th - 12:00PM and 3:00PM
Come join us on an intimate talk with Dickson Yewn, Creative Director of Yewn, as he shares the Journey of building one of the very few Asian Contemporary Jewelry Brand.
January 26th - 11:00AM to 12:30PM
Learn about the YEWN's Incubation Programme over lunch . The one-month incubation program is a rare learning chance for entrepreneurs and liked minded individuals who could see and understand that culture is the most important ingredient that most Asian brands lack when competing on a world stage of thousands of lifestyle products and services dominated by the West.
And during this brief month in Hong Kong, where the brand is based, successful candidates will be working side by side with the founder and his team on practically all areas of the business, ranging from concept, design, production to sales and marketing. The many successes as well as challenges experienced by the brand throughout the years will also be shared with the successful candidate as valuable lessons of entrepreneurship.
To RSVP from any of the talks please email Bea from the CRIB events team at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate which time slots you would like to attend.
YEWN and Michelle Obama
In 2011, YEWN became the first contemporary Chinese luxury jewellery brand to be chosen by America's First Lady. Michelle Obama wore YEWN’s iconic Lattice Jadeite Ring when the American President hosted a dinner for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The ring caught the eyes of many of the guests at the lavish event, which included UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Oscar winner Colin Firth, English football star David Beckham, Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, and J. K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series.
